Alien Princess - Chapter 3Chapter 3:  One moment she'd been sleeping, dreaming peacefully about something random and nonsensical. The next moment, the world shook violently and Zoe woke to find herself clinging to the bed while a blaring siren muffled out all sounds. The tremors passed and Zoe sat up, wondering for a moment where she was and whether or not she really was awake.  A loud rumble accompanied by another series of shakes had Zoe clinging to the bed once more, but a moment too late and she fell to the side, her arm colliding painfully with the frame of the bed. During this set of tremors, the lights flickered on and off, and a few of them sent show Alien Princess - Chapter 3

Alien Princess - Chapter 2Chapter 2:  Zoe placed her hand on the window as she stared out into the black expanse on the other side. She sighed and let her head fall forward a few inches, making a soft thunk sound as it stopped against the cold glass. For a moment, she imagined that she was floating freely through that space. Haha! Yes! After spending all day yesterday wracking my brain for a usable idea for nanowrimo, it finally hit me JUST before I went to bed last night. =D And I think it's a good one!

Plot Summary: Seventeen-year-old Zoey Smithson always knew her adoptive parents were a little on the... eccentric side, but had learned to accept their oddities. But when her parents announced the real reason for why they never go swimming, despise winter, and have always worn the same Halloween costumes every year for as long as she can remember, she found herself completely unprepared for what they had to say.

Her adoptive parents reveal that they are in fact aliens who've been living in exile on Earth for over fifteen years. Not only that, but her father is royalty back on their home planet, meaning that Zoey - because of some unfortunate circumstances - is now heir to the throne!

Haven't got more than just the three characters and a possible plot line figured out so far. But I've only had the idea for not even a full 24 hours, so I think that's ok.
